HUMBLED
. .

Blowing snow and frigid temperatures couldn't keep family and friends from streaming in to Abe Krasne Home Furnishings on Tuesday afternoon. While there was a sale going on, those braving the winter weather were out to honor Krasne on Abe Krasne Day, a special day declared by the Mayor, Skip Edwards. 'I am humbled by the people coming out in this inclement weather, giving me platitudes that I didn't deserve', he said.

'Abe Krasne is one of the last true businessmen of our downtown community,' said Allan Hale, president of the Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce. 'He cares about the community, he believes in the community and he'll do anything possible to make the entire community successful.' Retailing has been part of the Krasne family for generations. His grandfather once sold goods from a wagon before eventually settling in Oakland, where the family ran a general store.
